School Sports Premium

Every school in England receives extra sports funding through School Sports Premium.

The School Sports Premium is an amount of money which the DfE has agreed to allocate to schools to improve sporting achievement.  The funding amount received by schools is based upon the number of children of primary age at each individual school. The Sport Premium must be used to:

Increase the quality and breadth of PE & Sport provision, and increase participation in PE & Sport.

We welcome the additional funding, which will further enhance our provision and provide additional opportunities for increased participation.

Please see attached our most recent document to find out about the way Reepham Church of England Primary School spends our School Sports Premium funding allocation.

Reepham C of E Primary Swimming:

2024-25: 100% Year 6 can perform safe self-rescue, 93% can confidently swim 25m, 80% using a range of strokes.

Reepham School has invested its funding in the best possible resources to provide an enjoyable, engaging and varied sports curriculum. This year, the school is working with professional sports coaches from the Lincoln City Foundation to advise and support our curriculum. They work alongside and upskill our teachers to teach lessons which develop pupils' declarative and procedural knowledge. Some funding is also used to implement a reading project, led by Lincoln City Foundation, to promote a love of reading and inspire children to read for pleasure.

We have sports equipment outside at all playtimes and have invested in training Year Six pupils to become Play Leaders with the Playmakers scheme.

The school is also focused this year on re-developing a programme of competitive sports. We have relaunched our football team, recently entering into the local league, and we also have a cross-country running squad who represent the school in the Lincoln Schools' league events. We are also planning to take part in swimming galas and other interschool sports, such as Girl's Football, Rugby, Netball, Multi-Skills, Cricket and Rounders events this academic year through a partnership with West Lindsey District Council.

This year our Sports and Activity week runs from Monday 13th July to Wednesday 15th July.

We hold an annual 'Sports Week' when we invite local clubs and activity providers in to motivate pupils, promote healthy lifestyles and showcase different sports as well as foster local school-club links. In the past, we have hosted a hugely successful climbing wall as well as other activities including skateboarding, breakdance, martial arts, Drumba, skipping and hula-hoop workshops and Zumba.
