Reepham Rangers

At Reepham, we encourage our pupils to celebrate their successes both inside and outside of school.  We have an award system where pupils complete specific challenges to earn a variety of badges, which have been planned to enhance the National Curriculum PSHE objectives and our Church School Values.

We want our pupils to feel that they are known, loved and belong to a special community (our family). Our challenges help our pupils to develop, emotionally, socially and spiritually, encouraging key skills such as resilience, creativity and curiosity.

KS1 'Mini Rangers'

Our ‘Mini Rangers’ is a set of challenges designed for KS1 and Reception children. It is the 'build-up' to the ‘Reepham Rangers’ award system that starts in Year 3.

To achieve a  ‘Mini Rangers’ badge the children have to complete one task that they are really passionate about or have shown dedication to that particular area.

There are 5 badges to collect, and they can be achieved by completing the following:

‘I don’t give up badge’ - To achieve this badge, you need to show resilience by keeping on going at something you felt was a little tricky to start with.

‘I made a difference badge’ - To achieve this badge, you need to raise money for a charity by taking part in an event and then explaining how you have helped someone.

‘Fair play badge’ - To achieve this badge, you need to be part of a group that wins with pride, but also learns from mistakes.

‘Creative badge’ - To achieve this badge, you need to create something (of quality) in your own time that is original and really too perseverance. You have to be able to talk through the process and evaluate it.

‘ I love nature badge’ - To achieve this badge, you need to create a natural picture. You could research an animal you really like and tell your class about it.

KS2 'Reepham Rangers'

In KS2, badges are available in the following areas:

> Resilience

> Social Action

> Teamwork

> Arts

> Our World

To achieve a badge, each pupil will need to complete 5 of 6 challenges listed on a record card.  The challenges are designed so that 2 or 3 will be able to be completed in school, but they will also require children to show commitment outside of school.  Pupils will need to complete a record card, which will need to be signed and dated by an adult, and they must provide evidence of the completed challenges.  For example, a supporting photograph or letter. When a pupil has completed the criteria to achieve an award, they will be presented with their badge and a certificate during Friday’s celebration worship.

Good luck!!

Report Cards can be downloaded below or copies are available on the Reepham Rangers display board in school.

Here are some examples of what our children have been doing to achieve their Reepham Rangers Awards.
